04:54 am - Russian Jazz?!! The stars were shining once again, this time in Studio City at the La Ve Lee Jazz club. The small club was jam packed with people wanting to catch a glimpse. On stage, the legendary Georgiy Garanyan, sax was joined by Aleksey Zubov, sax and a band of local musicians. The result was an unforgatable evening of Jazz. In addition to the world famous musicians and Mikhail Kozakov, a long-time Russian actor, several Russian TV personalities were on hand as well. And things would never be the same without the spectators and the listeners. These guys let their women be out front, on the frontier, armed only with the latest copies of Odesskiy Listok. Seeing that one of the papers ended up upside down in this picture, I am not sure that the girls have sufficient skills to tackle the wilderness by themselves. :) Click on their picture to see many other exciting shots:

08:40 am - Out at the Temple Bar Last night Dima K. dragged me out to take a breath of air at the Temple Bar in Santa Monica. Avi of Odessa, Texas (formerely of the Red Elvises) was playing with a new band. After working non-stop for several days, this was a very welcome change. As always, I grabbed my trusty little camera to document the outing. I was too lazy to get up and walk around the venue, so all the pictures are taken from the same angle. Here is a picture from the party. Click on it to see others.

02:05 am - February Euro-Russian Chamber Meeting & Elly K. Concert
Date: Sat, Feb. 26th Time: 8:00 pm - 11:00 am Where: The Continental 8400 Wilshire Blvd. Beverly Hills, CA
The Euro-Russian Chamber of Commerce will once again meet at The Continental in Beverly Hills on Saturday, February 26th from 8 pm to 9pm. We had over 150 people attending in January and the response was very positive. You will need to RSVP (1 or 2 people per email) directly to chamber@russiantimes.com this time, as Lena from Russian Lounge will be too busy taking care of the Pearl party at Jelly's on the bay in San Francisco and Women's Day party at The Erotic Museum in Hollywood. RSVP is required to get 1/2 price ($5) admission.
After the meeting, we will have Elly K. (http://www.ellyk.com) a very talented Russian-speaking singer and songwriter perform a full 45 minute concert. Elly will sing in both Russian and English.
Stick around for after the concert for more schmoozing and business dealings. Meet your future business associates, employees, employers, service providers, clients and just new friends. Of course, we are expecting some top-notch singles to join us again this time, but please remember this is not a singles party, so don't expect to go home with a partner of your dreams, unless you arrive with that person! (Upscale singles & progressive couples will want to check out the Erotic Museum's party on http://LA.Baraban.Com )
Don't miss this opportunity - one $5 admission price covers the entire program.
